We can provide your project with highly detailed 2D plans of your building at a suitable scale. These can encompass any or all stories, and can also include a roof plan if required.

We have experience of numerous building types, including; residential, industrial, heritage/listed and office buildings, along with large shopping centre projects and construction sites.

We are experts in producing both internal and external building elevations. These are a 2D, orthographic projection of a building face. No matter the level of detail involved, our CAD technicians can produce an accurate and comprehensive drawing.

We use georeferenced orthophotos as a guide for our elevations, ensuring supreme quality in our final product. For a surveyor, there is nothing better than completing an aesthetically pleasing elevation of an ornate building facade.

A section is a horizontal, orthographic projection of a building on to a vertical plane. These can cross through a building, extend longitudinally through the whole building, or be staggered to go through areas of particular interest.

We can supplement our sections with internal elevations if required, which project areas of the building beyond the chosen vertical plane.

Laser scanning has revolutionised building surveying. At Ruxton Surveys, we quickly adopted this technology as it became available in the UK.

It allows for the rapid collection of 3D data, up to a million point per second in the right conditions. The level to which this has reduced time on site is unprecedented compared to any other technological advancement.

The resulting point cloud that is produced is a fully comprehensive record in time of the subject building, meaning that at any point additional information from the site can be retrieved, removing any need for revisits.

Furthermore, it is a remote technology, meaning our surveyors can work from a safe distance to any dangerous or fragile areas.

We provide 3D modelling services that benefit clients in new and more effective ways. Models of buildings can be used to produce multiple floor plans, sections and elevation views of a particular subject.

Many operations of analysis can be performed from our models including;

• Sun studies for right to light surveys
• Structural analysis on assigned material elements
• Animation/still view renders to show design concepts and changes to existing conditions

Many companies prefer to use our services for modelling as-built conditions before making their own modifications. This allows them to focus on producing detailed design proposals instead of spending valuable time on modelling from 2D plans. As a consequence, the reliability and accuracy of the proposals increases in quality.
